Kat Graham’s speech to students in Colorado on why they should vote for Barack Obama:
I’m so honored to take a break from shooting Vampire Diaries to come speak to you today about
something that is very important to me and very important for America. This election is getting closer every day, and it’s much too close for comfort. We cannot allow
Mitt Romney to become our President. It would mean tax breaks for the wealthy, leaving the
burden on middle class families. It would mean the chilling of equal rights for gays and lesbians.
It would mean politicians and employers making health decisions for women that should be left
to a woman and her doctor. If we want this country to move forward under President Obama’s
leadership, we all need to take an active role in getting him re-elected. We’ve got to vote on
Tuesday! It’s a really close race, and Colorado will decide it. If you think your voice won’t make a
difference, I want you to consider this: In the 2000 election, President Bush defeated Al Gore by
only 537 votes… 537 votes changed the course of history, it played a huge role in the economic
downturn, the war in Iraq, ignoring the threat of climate change – and it can happen again. A
handful of votes can literally change the direction of history and that’s why it’s important for you
guys to recruit your friends and families, your classmates and your co-workers and exercise the
most important right you have—to vote.President Obama has doubled our investment in Pell Grant scholarships for college students who
are trying to put themselves through school and secure their future. Making it easier for students
from working families to get a solid education doesn’t seem to be a main concern for Romney. In
fact, he suggested that students who need financial aid should “shop around” or borrow money
from their parents. What he doesn’t understand is that not all of us have parents who can lend us
thousands of dollars for college. Barack Obama gets it—he and Michelle Obama put themselves
through school, and he has a real, achievable plan to cut the growth of college tuition in half in
the next ten years.Let’s talk about what President Obama has done for the gay community. He repealed Don’t Ask
Don’t Tell so that our gay and lesbian soldiers could serve our country without hiding who they
are. But Mitt Romney’s opposition to civil unions puts him to the right of George W. Bush.
And Romney even wants to write discrimination into our Constitution to stop gay and lesbian
couples from marrying.President Obama also succeeded at doing one thing that a century of presidents before him
tried to do but could not— and that is health insurance reform. Right now, we are the only
industrialized country in the entire world that does not provide quality, affordable health care
to its citizens, and Romney has made it clear that he is going to repeal Obamacare as soon as he
takes office. We can’t let that happen.I just want all of you to understand the power you have to make an impact. Young people have
more power than they know; we can move mountains when we come together. Taking action is
not just for later in life, it’s right now. America is counting on you. The president is counting on
you, and I’m counting on you. This is our future at stake. We’re not about to let Mitt Romney appoint the next couple Supreme
Court justices so he can see Roe v. Wade overturned. We’re not about to let him go on with his
plan to reject climate science, cut education and take us back to the trickle-down economics that
crashed the economy and crushed the middle class. We want to keep moving forward!I’ll be voting on Election Day, and if you haven’t already voted early, I want each one of you –
and your friends – to join me!Thank you!
God I love her!

Obama has 79 electoral votes and Mitt has 83, twenty seconds later Mitt has 88.
I feel like I’m just cackling at this Nian video, with Nina saying she wanted to kiss him but “not in front of the whole world” and Ian just being like “nope, nope, no,” and then muting their conversation.
He was like
He looks fucking pissed off. & the fact that people are like “Awh!…
Lol I always interpret Nian videos differently than Nian fans. They seem to think it’s one of the greatest romances ever and I’m always left like, ‘Nian do better.” Take for instance the Paleyfest video where there was this conversation about Kat being hot. Ian goes “You’re on fire [Kat] and this girl [Nina] is freezing” and he puts his coat around her shoulder. Nian fans were going crazy about how sweet is was, but if anybody watched the video properly they would’ve noticed that Nina mentioned that she was cold way before Ian put his coat around her. It was only when the talk about Kat being hot came about that he gave her his jacket and at that point Nina wasn’t even looking at Ian. I for one thought he was throwing major shade at Nina. If that wasn’t enough, he said it twice so he could make sure the audience heard him. But hey who am I to tell people that Nian isn’t awesome?

Anderson: On the red carpet for the Oscars last year you changed your look… kind of and it seemed to flip people out. People were writing about this, blogging about this. And Gabby at the Olympics recently, when she did really well I saw people commenting about her hair and stuff. I just thought it really odd that people notice this so much. Do you find it strange that people comment on how you appear so much?
